Just bought a used 883 as my fun run around bike.
Has what appears to be Screaming Eagle air cleaner (stage 1 ?) and ShortShots.
The bike pops on decel a lot so I think a tune was never performed. I am taking it to local shop to have the bike looked over and make sure everything is up to par. He is going to add a V&H fuelpak and tune for me.
I just got a DK Custom air cleaner package with breather bolts and am going to put that on, since the bike is going to get a tune anyway.

Two questions:
Easy for me to do ahead of the shop visit? Save me some labor cost, or just have them do it?
Sometimes I worry that all the directions will be followed for installation. (you know blue loctite, one quarter turn for this bolt etc?)
Any issues riding the bike to the shop after this is done without the tune?

You can easily do all that in minutes. The FP3 is easy and Vance and Hines phone support is great.

I already had the shop order the FP3 for me, before I realized it was fairly easy and I don't want to stick them after I asked them to get it and tune the bike.
I just want to make sure I won't damage anything by installing the cleaner and riding it to the shop (about 20 miles) without a tune
