synthetic oil for break-in on rebuild

Anyone have any thoughts on using Amsol 20/50 in a 71 iron head after putting in new piston and rings? Would this allow proper break-in, or will it be too shhhlippery?

When I did mine, I used motomaster 20W50 and dumped it after 100 miles. Then I put in the good stuff.

I use regular dino oil (Havlin 20w 30) on rebuild for the 1st 500 miles then dump it for Mobil V. On that
old of bike I think I would use dino for sure. Make sure every thing gets good and seated.

I use Dino oil on all of my break ins. Syn works too good for a good ring seat in period.

Lots of high end cars andmotorcycles including the SE bikescome with synthetic so it should not be a problem but why spend that kind of money if you are going to change oil in 100 miles anyway. I use Rotella 15-40 diesel oil it is under $9 for gallon jug. I change oil at 50 and then again at 200so cheap oil is fine for that.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll save the $ and use regular oil first.
