Default SE 51MM Carb.

Does anyone know anything about the Screaming Eagle 51 MM carb and intake, I mean from a performance stand point. Good, bad or what.

Bad idea. Still has lag in throttle response like stock carb. If your gonna drop the dough, definitely go with the 45mm mikuni and se intake. more bang for your buck for sure!

first off what size motor is it going on... that carb comes stock when you order a jims 120 so watch what size your motor is .. the one that we have done it works out very well on that motor.. all 3 of the bike where about 137hp and 145tq all in baggers with 2-1 pipe..

We've used 'em on 95" builds. Work very, very well when used correctly.
One we did was for an employee at a local dealership. It ripped 123 hp and 116 ft/lbs. That dealership no longer has "dyno gypsys" setting up in their parking lot to show off their "expertise".

I like the 51 cv carb provided it is used in a correct build. The carb is for a larger style engine. Now that does not mean that you cannot use it on a smaller engine. If the engine is a hot 95 and past builds like it show that the package wants a larger carb then use it.

I like the fact that the carb is a cv and is user friendly, and jets nicely. There are other carbs, MIKS, S&S, PSI,Weber, etc. All have pros and cons. Over all the cv carb is a great unit for street use. We have installed them on many a engine. The smallest that we have use it on is a 103. Again that is not to say that you could not use it on a 80 inch evo. That is based on the build.

Thanks guys,
I have it on my 103 CI motor with the HTTC pistons and ported heads with Woods cams. Seems to work ok for me but it's my first HD, started as a low rider has ended up as a wide glide so now I call it my LOW GLIDE. Tried to post some pics but they were to big or something. Ain't real savy on this puter stuff.
Oh it turned 118 HP @ 124 FT/LB on the dyno. Don't know if that's good or bad. Man I love this forum, but it seems to interfere with my work u no
