S&S 510 or 570G Gears?
I have a 2006 Street Glide, Last year I had the big bore kit installed along with a Mikuni 45 hsr carb and the true dual exhaust from Rinehart. My question is this: Should I go with the S&S 510 or with the S&S570G Cams, and do I have to replace the push rods with either of them?

RE: S&S 510 or 570G Gears?
My question to you is: have you had any head work done?
If the answer is yes, then I would suggest a high lift cam.
I have run the .570 S&S, but I must say that the Head-Quarters .575 cam gave me alot broader power range, and torque.
I would consider, if you had the choice, to run an HQ cam or a Woods cam.

Its around 900$ for most shops to do FULL head work.
If it is in your budget, do it! Get some compresion releases installed.
R&R dose full CNC machine for 950 or so, Head-Quarters full hand port is around the same.
The HQ .575 Firestorms are recomended for most sport/touring aplications, the 0039 cam is for heavy baggers and 2 up riding. both over gobs of torque.
Woods T 6 is a good all round cam. or T8 for a Hi lift aplication.(and more torque)
T9 for hot rod aplications...(with 3.37 gearing ive heard its like riding a hand-genade)!

Yes the 9 is like riding a rocket though. It must be set up properly for it. compresion up there. rocker...etc...
No head work i say the andrews 26 or 37 or my fav the wood 6. Just have to bump up the compression.
With headwork, the 6, 37 or 575'.
the 570's are not a bad cam, but other are better out there. the 570's do work well with cleaned up s/e heads though.

Brew: How well does your current build run? I ask because a 45 Mikuni is a lot of carb on a 95 and not what Doug or Kevin at HQ would recommend for one of their 95" packages--not saying it won't work, but they recommend the 42 like Mentor is running.

Like 11 to 1 pistons, and the HQ 0033 cam or the Woods TW 9. at that point I think a 45 mm would be helpful in making the HP not so much at Touque.

Mentor: Give Kevin a call; he's tuning an '06 SG with an HQ 95, Fatcat, etc. The owner couldn't get rid of pinging from 2k to 3k rpms using the 45. IIRC, it's got the HQ-0033 cams and about 220 ccp. YMMV since this is a bagger.
Brew: Not trying to hijack your thread; just metioning the tuning issues an owner encounteredwith a 45 on a high compression 95" build, and that the bike apparently runs much better with the 42 which is what HQ recommends for their 95" package, at least on a bagger.
