Default Noisy 98"

I've been dealing with a noise for the last 2 years that's driving me batty. It all started when I did a 98 GMR (RevPerf cylinders) build. It had gear driven Andrews 37 cams (until yesterday, now chains) with mild head work (84 CC, aftermarket stock size valves, stock push rods).

It is most definitely an internal noise and the best way I can describe it is it's a rattle/clicking and can be heard at idle and lower rpm's while under load. It's present at higher rpm's but not as noticeable due to wind and exhaust noise.

I thought it might be piston slap but that has pretty much been eliminated for reasons I won't go into (looong story). I then turned my attention to the cam gears even though my run out is minimal due to having the crank reworked by Darkhorse. I figured I'd go back to chain cams on the outside chance that was it. I made the change yesterday and the results are that the noise is actually louder now. Does that suggest anything to anybody?

Thanks,
Rick

There is a laundry list of things that were found to be done incorrectly in the initial build.I am nowhaving my bike re built properly by a very reputable engine buliderwho I should of gone with initially and I am kicking myself for the bad choice.Oh well you live and learn I guess. Will elaborate when it is complete.
