exhaust sounds

I have a 97 Road King with a stage 1 upgrade. V&amp\\;H slipons, Screaming Eagle air box, PCI 111. When I let off on the throttle I get a sound reminicent of a diesel de-cellerating. Not very pleasing. Any thoughts?
