Mild decel popping now that....
...installed Wild Pig Slip Ons with the 1.75" baffle. Just installed them and went for a ride. I used Permatex black as a sealant (although I probably should have let it set before jumping on, huh?). Have the XIEDs (13.8 afr ones) installed too, and nothing else. Very mild decel popping, only when coming down off RPMs >\\;2500 or so. I yanked out my plugs and took a look and saw this:

From what I remember, it looks like I'm running a bit rich (XIEDs) but overall do they look ok? Could the freer flowing exhaust give me some decel pop? I will go back and recheck my work to make sure the clamps are tight and I don't have any leaks at the slip ons.
Thanks for input folks.
Ugh, remove that stupid \\; from those links and they will work.... curse you forum bugs!

Links don't work. \\;use the direct link codes.
As for the sealant, normally you shouldn't need it, but really doesn't hurt, although it should be HIGH TEMP sealant like permatex ultra copper. \\; When i pulled my stock mufflers off, I had to twist and turn them, and thought I may have created a leak. I just pulled the pipes off today to put new gaskets at the heads and crossover, and found that my rear pipe may have been leaking, due to the retaining ring being all bent up, like it was torqued down without being in it's groove in the flange (dealer's fault from when I had some work done last year).
Fix those links, I really want to see the plugs! \\;

Your links are password protected......
 \\;
First off, NEVER use Black/Clear silicon as an exhaust sealant....
 \\;
Use Ultra Copper, it doesn't burn off, it prevents the mufflers from sticking, and it is an excellent sealant...
 \\;
Decel popping and Rich conditions don't match up... Decel pop is from a lean overheated condition.....

Re: Permatex, should I pull the pipes off and use the Permatex Ultra Copper and risk more strain on the headers? Or just leave it as is for now? I've been told / read so many diff sealants are "ok" to use... Ultra Copper, Black, straight up anti-seize.... Oiy.

In my experience, popping on decel is a sign that all the conditions are perfect for detonation in the pipe. Meaning, you have enough heat and unspent fuel vapors in the pipe to cause an explosion. If you change any one of those two items, no more popping.
Since changing the temp of the pipe is nearly impossible, you can either add fuel or take fuel away at the zero throttle position. If you have the SE race tuner, go into decel enrichment and add some fuel by making the numbers in the fields smaller. Smaller numbers
in this area means "don't take away fuel"

I don't have a SERT on this bike. It might be a be gurgle, lol. It's not really annoying, or loud, just sort of noticeable under the said circumstances.
To be honest my experience in tc engines is all of 1000 miles worth on this bike. It's definitely only when letting off the throttle say above 2500 rpms and letting the engine decel the bike. Grabbing the clutch makes it go away.
