The New SE MVA Heads
Anyone using these heads on their scoot? I am just curious if anyone likes these...looks like Harley may have actually started listening to customers and tried to fix the weak spots in their older style head by designing these new MVA heads
Here is what Harley has to say about them.

Well thats good that at least one persone likes them. i was starting to wonder if they too were poorly designed like all the other SE heads
i am starting my 113 race engine build today. i decided to go with the MVA heads just becasue they are such an improvement over the 110+ and older the styles. I will have to see what dyno results i get with them.
I got about a week or so until the bike is finished and then the break in so hopefully by the end of august i can get it on the machine.

well okay well please feel free to go more into detail on the " right pistons"
what you wrote is like saying
'make sure you put air in your tire or it will be flat'
what choices are you recommending on the piston selection.The pistons that come with the 113 are the 10.5 CR fourged alum. from SE.
are these any good?

Those heads have a reccometed piston that is designed to go with those heads from SE.
The heads have 95 cc combustion chambers and sometime HD has some odd shapes there. So many times, or almost always, you have to pick the correct piston for the heads.
So just check all this out or you will maybe have to change pistons. If you used your stock pistons with this head CR would be in the neighbor of 9.0 CR. ( stock head has 84 cc, MVA has 95cc it seems)
SE forged Pistons are very good.

When you get those heads measure the inlets because the next thing you will be checking out is a bigger intake.
There are lots to chouse from. Some are designed to match certain inlet sizes.
I have a SE 58mm intake system that fits my stock ported heads. Inlets were sized the same as SE heads. But that was two years ago. Lord knows what these new heads inlets are.
And some manufactues have a big choice of sizes. Some available head inlets are not even round.
