Default TW 6-6 cam or Redshift 577?

Anyone have experience with this choice?

I am going to put Baisley Superstock heads on my 103. Just wondering about the cam. I have a 255 cam in the bike now. I am at 86/98 and would like about 10 percent more of both. (Its a bagger so I want low end torque)

Maybe someone knows if the 255 will work with a superstock head...?

Can't help you with the 577 but,I ran the 557 Redshift & never could get good #s out of it on a 103.The 577s may work better though.Regards,Tom

if your getting hi lift springs in the heads, get a higher lift Woods cam, the 6 would work great but something in the 570 to 600 lift would be even better, that is if your pistons will clear it. Are you using SE pistons or aftermarket ones??

the Tman 625 or 590 would be awesome too. If your bike is heavier, the head-quarter 575 cam is a stump puller too!

I have whatever pistons come with the 103 kit. I never got to see them so I'm unsure.

I would check into that then, ive been told that the SE valve pockets are kinda small, so this should be taken into consideration for cam selection for sure.

I ran the TW6G-7 (gear drive version of the 6-6) in my 103" with Baisley Super Stock heads. With a Fatcat, it made 100/112.

Either the 555, or the 408-44.
Just built a 107", with our heads, that rolled 110/120 with the 555.

My wife always says "let's get real"
So sounds like good advice here
As Dan Baisley what CCs the heads are and what your compression ratio is with your combination of parts and ask him to suggest the cam. It is his head product and he will lead you to what will work the best.
