88" or 95" to 103" conversion?
Anybody done this? My 2000 Screamin Eagle Road Glide with the factory 95" motor has 110,000 miles on it. Still running good, but starting to make a little more noise.
I know I can do the "factory rebuild" deal, but with the dealer r+r, that would end up costing around $4,000., and it would still be 95" with the old style cam chain tensioners.
My dealer says they can rebuild my motor in house, with the 103" crank assembly, new style hydraulic cam chain tensioners, new 103 heads with bigger valves, 255 cams, etc. for about $5,500.
My dealer has some good mechanics that have done major work for me before, so I believe they can handle the job.
There is no indie shop near me that I trust for this kind of work, so the dealer is the way to go for me.
Leaning toward the 103 kit, but wondering if anybody else has converted an 88" or 95" motor to a 103, and how it held up and how much differance in power there was?

the power will vary depending on head work, compression and cam choice. If i were doing this, id get something other than HD components and get package that would work together with cams and Head work. Tman or Head-quarters, hillside.
Even when you buy the new crank it is recommended that the new crank be plugged and welded.
If your going to go that far, i would have the cylinders bored out to make a 107 and get the torque over 120 ft lbs, there would be no questions of whether it hauls ***.

for that kind of $$$ i would consider S&S 111 motor with a three year warranty perfectly square motor -- if you shop around you can get it for 5200/5400
