Hi guys, always rode Beezers and Bonnies but always wanted a Sportster, now that i'm retired I'd like to assemble a H-D Twin for a fast street bomber.
I see S&S offers a beautiful (but not cheap $9500) 100 inch XL motor. Is this over the top for a street motor or should I go for 107 or 113 Ultima motor or?? I know the ultima won't go into a stock sporty frame.
Just trying to figure out a decent reliable fairly hot evo motor.
Anyone have or know about that S&S xl motor?

100" xl
If you are looking for a bike that has non stop acceleration then you are in the correct catalogue. They require a bit of work to get into the frame but when it is all said and done you will not be disappointed with the power this motor makes. It has good street manners and is OK to ride on the back or country roads with a passenger but it is the happiest when at or near full throttle. Just a great motor. There will not be many other bikes(all brands) that will be able to keep up with you. have fun. dsv

Ex-Beezer guy here (wouldn't be seen dead on a Triumph!). You'll have more cubic inches in each cylinder than any BSA, except a Rocket 3. So no shortage of performance! I've owned my S&S 107" Evo for over 5 years and it has been fine, although as a bagger motor, not a rocket-ship! If you go ahead with this project keep us up to date. I'm not sure I would trust an Ultima.
