Default dead spot? help?

What to do?
I am wondering if anyone here might be able to help me out a little bit? I have an EVO powered softail, I recently installed a 6-speed tranny. I am experiencing a dead spot at about 70-72 MPH in 6th and 50-55 in 5th. I chatted with my indy mechanic friend who told me that it is a combination of " S&S shorty E" cam Andrews EV27, 2 into 1 exaust, milled heads 9.5:1. and Dyna ignition. OK his solution, baffle muffler, and block spacer between carb and manifold. I am running .066 main jet, .295 intermidiate jet. I am wondering if any one here has had a similar situation? and any solutions that have resolved it? I appreciate any input from you all, Thanks

EV 27 cam is awesome! S&S carb, not so much. If you have your stock CV carb, I'd throw that back on and tune it. Your compression and cam look good. I'm no expert on S&S. I run stock CV or Mikuni depending on the mission. 2:1 looks good so I think you have a carb problem.
