Selling my 131 Cycle-Rama motor need help
I have pulled the 131 from my SG and in the process of installing a S&S T-111 my question to you guys and girls is should I keep the motor intact and try to sell for $3600 or should I part it out and sell it -- the parts are listed below -- I swapped motors because the 131 was not practical for long rides.
last year I got new lifters and pushrods, new high flow oil pump and new cams--less than 1000 miles ago 131 cubic inch twin cam engine package (1) Performance Ignition Module (1) 4 5/8 stroker crank (1) 4.250 (131) pistons and cylinders (1) Set of heavy duty cylinder studs (1) Set of gear drive cams. Cams inner & Outer gears, new cam bearings & heavy duty cam bearing plate (4) Performance lifters (1) Adjustable pushrod kit and pushrod tubes (1) Performance engine gasket kit (1) Roller Rocker arms |
You will take a beating trying to part this thing out, selling it asa a whole is your best bet. You will most likely take a beating anyway but at least everything will be gone and you won't have part laying around.

Sell it whole, it's better to get beat up once than a bunch of times
|
thanks for the replies -- if I going to get beat one beating is better than several -- my garage is getting full with motor parts, shocks, bars, etc.
|
I've got 2000.00 burning a hole in my pocket :D, how about we start the beating now! LOL (just joshing with ya)

Do you still have this motor for sale? If so, send me an email at thelionsden@roadrunner.com
Thanks Dennis |

the motor was built off of stock HD cases--going this big on stock cases IMHO is a gamble--not strong enough in my case developed weepage issues at 10k
had to check the bike everytime I took it out -- something would be loose or fall off due to the vibration of the motor and urethane motor mounts clutch was hard (my fault) Barnett Scorpion with medium springs to hold 154lbs TQ 135hp Exhaust stud broke (twice) Carb brackets keep coming lose or breaking Ran hot due to size and compression Did not trust it to get me home If I were to due it again with use S&S cases and not have compression above 10:1 HOWEVER it was fun for Bike Nites and local rides

help me understand, Wes is about to build me a 131, I tore up the stack crank in my stage 3 95ci and I figure if I must by new stuff then go big. When you say the 131 isnt practical for long trips, can you go into a little detail for me? I do a deals gap every year, a ride to NC from FL a couple times a year but I am mainly a local kind of rider. I am looking to put togather a mild 131.
