HD claims 90+ torque on the 96 cid motor but at what RPM is max torque/max horse power occur? What is the rev limit? I'm mean on a stock engine.
Thanks in advance
Mike.

One thing to remember is that the MoCo measures torque at the crank, not at the rear wheel. So that 90+ torque translates to somewhere in the mid 70's at the rear wheel.
Rev limit is 5800 rpm.
The intake close on Harley's stock 96" EPA cams is 30*, power should come on at 1700 rpm and start dropping off at 4500 rpm. As to when it reaches "peak" torque and horsepower, only a dyno run will determine that.

Over the past few years, the Screamin Eagle catalog presented a 'notional' stock power curve HP/TQ as a comparison for the various SE parts setups ... you might check the current SE catalog online ... (I have not checked recently to see if they still do this) ....

p.s. Here's a link I found ... http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...bmLocale=en_US ... the lower right hand corner of the photo shows an example of the graphs in the SE catalog ... this is 2011 catalog ....

between 3100-3300 on the 07 dyna models. Iwas suprised to see the low rider's peak tq was higher rpm than the streetbob's when I bought the 07 sb.

Not much info from HD as to TQ/HP. The site just states TQ and no rpm.
I realize that #s are given at the crank. I'm surprised that there is such huge drive line loss. Over 20%?
Thanks
Mike
