I want to put a larger tank on my 05 Sportster. I kind of want to do this without having to customize too much if at all. Are there nay other tanks that will just bolt on and go? I know I can purchase aftermarket tanks from other places like JP cycles, but are there any tanks from other models that will bolt on?

 

Yes, a Custom tank should go straight on. Some earlier Sportster models used a tank very similar to the Dynas, which may also be worth looking at. The Sportster forum will have more about doing swaps like this. Not many of them call in here, so it is worth looking in to see what they are getting up to.

 

I put the 4 gallon tank on my 05 sportster.

 

I take it you have a 3.3 gal. tank. I don't see any reason why the Sportster 4.5 gal. tank wouldn't fit. You may have to get a different see though. I have noticed that a lot of the seats specify whether they fit a bike with a 3.3 gal vs a 4.5 gal.

 

Thank you, so just basically the sportster tanks. I was hoping to fit one with a dashboard to have the speed-o on it. I will look for the 4.5 gallon tank.
