Default Question B-168 bearing

Anyone on the forum have a New Torrington B-168 bearing that they can measure the outside diameter with a Dial Caliper or Micrometer.

The Torrington company web site shows this size to be 1.250.

I have two new ones from the MOCO dealership that are way to big......
Are they sold oversized???

Thanks

B-168 measured here @68 deg F:
OD: 1.251 minor to 1.254 major (they're usually not dead nuts round...until pressed in).
Length: .495

Not to worry. Torrington sold their 'needle' bearing division to Koyo. Look closely at the stamped markings on the B-148's and B-168's in the blue Koyo boxes. Still reads "Torrington" and made here in the USA.

The Torrington company web site shows this size to be 1.250.

1.250 is the "finished" size. Yes. They will shrink some when pressed in.

Maybe you need the 148's. What year is your bike?

Thanks for the replies,

Well here is the info that I have today:

The bike this bearing was to be installed in is a 2010 FLHTCUI, 96 inch stock motor with 2100 miles. CAM Bearing should be a B-168

The NEW in Box Screamin Eagle Bearing PN 24018-10 which contains (2) new Koyo B-168 bearings. The outer diameter of these two B-168 bearins is 1.253. Oversized

The OEM INA bearing that was pulled from this motor has outer diameter of 1.250.
And the holes where these OEM INA bearing came out of measures 1.250.

I have asked several persons on this and other forums and have confirmed that the old Torrinington B-168 bearing have outside diameters from 1.249 - 1.251......
These same persons have also noticed the added amount of presure needed to drive this bearing in place on recent installs.

As I have stated before the new Koyo B-168 bearing measures out as 1.253.

As a shade tree wrench this may mean nothing but with my training as a tool and die maker, someone would have hand me my hat and showed me the door if I tried to push in a .003 oversize steel part into any aluminum hole.

I beleive that the B-168 is now being made oversize. I say this since I have installed several of this bearing using Georges tools but discovered that this new Koyo B-168 will not even fit inside of Georges inner bearing puller. Bearing is to large.....

If anyone else out there reads thsi and find thier old INA or have new Torrington or Koyo bearing let me know what size they are?

I have sent email to Koyo which took over Torrington, and waiting for a reply?????
They say the B-168 bearing should be 1.250 DEAD NUT ON. No More No Less.

Put it in the freezer. Or get the INA bearing, they will be plenty good in the 1" size. Problem solved.

I bought a set of the SE B168s and had no problem installing them using an 'inexpensive' tool set I purchased on ebay (Heartland Products).
