I've done the drilling in the past, not wanting to spend the money. It's a waste of effort and mufflers. You never get the sound you really are looking for. Start setting money aside for the new pipes and jetting change.

I've Decatted and drilled my stock mufflers. I got a 1/4" X 24" bit and drilled one hole in the middle of the baffle plug then drilled about 3 more around it (I Think) , till I got the sound I wanted. Been about a year now and it sounds better then stock. I'll put D&D Bobcats on it one of these days. It will change the way it runs for the better, but YOU might need to adjust your tuneing depending on what else you've done, like an aftermarket Air Cleaner.
