Default 107" Stage 2 T-Man build -- need cam advice.

I've attached a Dyno chart of my 107" Stage 2 T-man build using T-mans 625 cam. The bike and mods are listed on the chart.

It seems (to me) that the numbers are a bit low for a 107" and was thinking of changing to a Woods TW-400-6 Cam for a bit more tq/hp. I'm looking for opinions/experience/advice on this.

Thanks,
Dennis

Ditch the quiet baffle for the performance baffle, there is a reason each baffle is named accordingly. It isn't the cams.

I would have to disagree with you on that. The fatcat offers 3 baffles -- Concentric, Quiet, and Performance. The concentric is restrictive, but there's very little difference between the other two. If you on have other data please share.

Yeah I have no life, I have data on muffler baffles. I am using common sense, if D&D knew they were the same on performance they would be called quiet and loud, not quiet and performance.

Could be that it's just not an "optimistic" dyno. Looks like a pretty nice power curve to me with a nice midrange. Do you really spend that much time wringing it's neck to benefit from a couple of extra HP up top?

I have to agree; as long as it rides good -- $$ spent vs. modest gains on a dyno will not be favorable. I'm willing to bet if you took it to another dyno numbers will be totally different.

Id have to agree with Nathan, the bike is making good torque numbers down low, with nice lines, with that said, if any of my motors make 1hp per cubic inch, that's my bench mark, just my two cents. Chad

Actually I did have it dynoed 2 times previously (once on a different dyno) and the numbers were all within a couple of hp/tq -- pretty consistent.

I can understand what you're saying about "good enough" is "good enough", but most of the 107" builds with similar mods I've seen have posted numbers closer to 120hp/120tq. I'm a bit of a tinkerer and do all the work myself, so I'm always interested in seeing the effect of incremental changes.

I contacted Bobby Woods and he recommends the TW408-6 cam instead of the TW400-6 that I was considering. I'll probably wait til after Sturgis in August before I actually do anything additional.
