New Woods TW62-6 cams?
So, what does everyone think about these? I had originally let Scott lead me to the TW9F-6 cams for my 124" build.... these new TW62-6 look very interesting! I would guess about the same on top but a little more mid-range? and a harder lope at idle??
Would love to hear some experienced builders thoughts on this grind! http://www.woodcarbs.com/06-12cams.htm |

I suppose even an, "I dunno" would suffice...:icon_denk:

Well I'll say I think you are on the right page with that but I'm not an engine builder. It does look that way with the numbers as they are

Wood cams tend not to lope at idle too much, a bit but not like some other cams mfg out there. What's your build and goal for the motor? I run the 68's and love them.

Almost side/side power of an S&S .675. BTW, we just shipped a modified S&S 145", to Edmonton, Alberta, with a Wood 68. Client is installing it in a Dyna. His "touring" bike, has one of our 124"ers in it. :D Scott |

Scott, rather hoping we might hear about that when it hits a dyno!
Us as well! Scott |
well Scott, all;
It looks like the SE266-E cam will give me a little more duration and a safer TDC overlap for clearance...? Also still have an early intake open for putting around? Would the late/short exhaust valve give a little more lope at idle? Just exploring options... found a set at a steal.... or would the 9F still be the best bang so I'm not breaking my throttle from twisting it for more power.... |
