Softail pipes on FXR

Softail pipes on FXR
Hello,
I am new here but I have a question for some of your knowledgable folk. I have an 87 FXR that has been thouroughly modified. I want change my pipes but, as you know, there are not that many options for FXR pipes (epecially used ones). I am pretty handy and have machinist friends. I would like to know if anyone has put softail pipes on a rubber mounted FXR, if so what did their bracket look like? Do they sell the conversion brackets?

RE: Softail pipes on FXR
Are you aware that FXR engines are canted differently in their frame than the engines in a Softail? Softail engines are straight up, FXR engines are tipped forward slightly and Dynas are tipped backwards a little. I've never seen anyone try to heat ST pipes to fit FXR brackets, but I suppose it might be possible. Frankly, though, I see lots of FXR pipes on the market, but they are new ones. Have you tried this forum's Want to Buy area?
