Road King EFI fuel leak

04 Road King fuel injected, has fuel leak at the fitting on the bottom of the left tank, The brass looking fitting that the fuel line connects to is loose, It is under the crome one that screws into the tank, and leaking where it connects to the crome fitting. Help! What is wrong, and how do I fix it, including removing it?

Is it leaking at the quick disconnect? It may only need a new o-ring.

Still not sure which part you are talking about. Pull down the chrome sleeve and pull off the fuel line. Inside the fuel line is an o-ring and there is also an o-ring inside the fitting on the tank. The o-ring in the tank fitting may have slipped out of its groove or is damaged. You will have to look up into the tank fitting to see it.

Edit: Push up the sleeve.

"brass looking thing" is a check valve. there's an o-ring on that as well (if it's loose, pull it out all the way and check the o-ring to see if its damaged). HD sells a special screwdriver to remove them, but I made my own by grinding down a 7/8" spade bit til I got it to JUST barely fit

if you get the check valve out and dont see an o-ring, reach up into the bung on the tank with a small screwdriver and drag it down. (i had a leak from these that was giving me fits...actually ended up buying 2 new check valves, then throwing them away a week later when I pulled it all apart and put a carb on it lol)

Thanks Bud! Now all I need is to get a new o-ring for the quick disconnect, easy fix. Thanks again.

Be sure to run it after pulling the fuel pump fuse to relieve pressure before removing the disconnect. With yours bet letting it set 24 hrs will do that. Even then wrap a rag around it and have a cold motor. Winnie roasts on top of a Harley are the pits....

Harley fuel tank o-ring in the female section.

Harley # 11273 or John Deer # R26286. (10mm id x 14mm od)

Harley drain plug o-ring # 11105.

HD OEM # 11105

Inside Diameter .414
Outside Diameter .558
Diameter (thickness) .072
Automotive grade "Buna-N" rubber for oil and heat resistance

Harley doesn't list that o-ring separately, but the above will fit.

fuel line o ring?

I am a student studying motorcycle and marine technology. I am working on a 01 Road King as part of my class, I have looked at a dozen forums and just about everyone has the o ring for disconnect. No one has the o ring for the fuel lines themselves. This bike has been sitting for a minimum 6 years, the o rings are shot and dry so I can't get them out and measure them. Any advice would be appreciated.

I got my fuel line o-rings from Granger part number 1252F75

6mm ID x 2mm thick.
