Default TC 96 to a 107 in my 08' Bagga'...have a ???

I am looking to build my TC96 in my 2008 FLHX to a TC107 with Wiseco 10.25/1 Pistions, Woods TW-777 cams, power commander, 50mm throttle body and my 2002 heads from an earlier 97" build that produced 111hp and 113tq in my 45mm Mukuni carb'd 02 FXDWG3.

The heads have been ported, polished, cc'd, 3 angle valve seats, Manley 1.94 intake and 1.615 exhaust stainless valves and .650 lift springs. I've already had the front boss machined to accept my front engine mount on my FLHX. Question...am I correct in that these TC88 heads will perform great for my 107 build?? Not looking for the last hp or tq#...just want a good running bike again.

Used HD parts bring about 0$ these days, therefore I believe it would be a waste of time to try and sell the TC88 heads for $500 and place that toward reworking my stock TC96 heads. Yup, I've read that TC96 heads flow better than stock TC88 heads...however is there any major improvement in a ported set of TC96 heads over equally ported TC88 heads??

I'm thinking this 107 combo should put me in the 115ish hp and 120ish tq range.

Opinions??? Thanks guys.

They'll bolt right up. If all seals, guides and seats good, go for it! Should work just fine, good time to give them a good cleaning too. Hell, add man compression releases cheap and easy

I had asked a question in another thread about putting 96" jugs on a TC88, and one of the earlier comments (before I had asked the question) was about the difference in heads.. supposedly the 96" heads have different, better flowing valves than the 88" heads had, and some other minor improvements.. though i don't remember what they are, but i think using the 96" heads would have a better result, even if it is a small one

Default head games !!!

there is an intake flange issue when swapping heads ...(check the S/E book) i think ,,,if mounting 05 and earlier heads on the 07 and up (96") i think you need to use the 07 up intake flanges ....or vis-a-versa ....

as for the head porting ,,,,if the porting is good in the earlier mod head ...you will not be able to "feel " any difference. from what i hear is that alot of head porters like the later mod heads because the ports are bigger from the factory and too, because they don't have as much material to remove as in the old style heads ....===less work on them w/ the same results ....iam seeing some of these so-called ported heads coming back w/ not much more than the paint cleaned out the chambers and ports ...which actually drops compression if not decked to make up difference ...these porters are not cc'ing the heads any more ,,,,clean up work and send it back ....they want to charge you for all this "extra work " now ...when that is and should be the head porters job ....!!!

as for the 96" juggs on and 88" ...that make the 88 a 95, the stock bore is the same , but the pistons are different because of the increase in stroke in the 96" ...i've used the cylinders out of an old 88 to 95" kit and put on the 96" to bring it to 103 " (w/ the piston change )

They should work well, as long as the chamber volume has not been decreased to the point where they will carry too much compression for your combination.
Once port work/valve seat replacement, is completed, there is basically no difference between early/late heads.
BTW, if looking for those 107" Wiseco's, we've had our proprieitary Wiseco's, with a complete Cometic gasket set, in-house cylinder boring, ring end gap set, and installed.................since 2007.
Happy to lend a hand on that.
