question on re adjusting pushrods
i just replaced cams, lifters, bearings, tensioners and installed new rivera taperlight pushrods. Bike runs great, but i notice a real slight lifter tick. Im gonna re adjust pushrods to see if maybe 1 of the lifters just wasnt pumped up fully. To re adjust, do i need to back pushrod off completely and start over, or just find whichever is loose and turn it in?
They might be ok..and it might just be a little noiser with the new cams, but the cams are mild(andrews26) so im leaning towards lifters ticking. Barely notice it at startup, but can hear it when cruising, not bad but a little noiser than with stock cams and pushrods.

Start over. If you start wherever it was when you left off... that 'miscount' of turns will still be in play.
I would recommend that you run the lifters down to .150 instead of the 'normal' .100.
AFter you try the 150. Any tick left will just be normal. MY 21s always had a slight tick when I was running those. Swapped to 54s and THEY were quiet. Running 266s and those have a pronounced tick to them. HAHA!!!

re adjusted the push rods last night, went ahead and set them at .125 put it back together, noise is still there. 2 of the lifters seemed to bleed down real fast..like less than a minute, reckon i got a bad lifter, although they are new? Bike runs perfect, rode almost 300 miles today, noise never changes, its the same when cold or hot, seems to be more pronounced running about 75mph(dont have a tach) still sounds like lifter tick to me, but cant put my finger on it, especially since everything is new. I did try a stethoscope, noise seems to be the same on front or rear cylinder, tried feeling the pushrod covers..no vibration felt. Could the andrews tw26 cams just be noiser than stock?

I put 26's in my 99 ultra classic, twin cam. Re-used stock lifters and pushrods. Cannot say that it is noisier then stock. I did change the oil pressure bypass so I have more pressure though. Not sure if that helped it, but it is not like yours where I am tearing into it again. Not sure if this helps you.

i called and ordered the baisley spring and relif valve today..figure it couldnt hurt. Tried changing to a different oil today also, no change in sound though. After messing with it for several hrs..the sound aint bad at all at idle, mainly at rpms, probably around 2500 or so is where i hear it the most. Kind of hard to hear though with wind and pipes, but with a stethoscope, it sounds more like its in the cam cover
