Default Rivera Intake with Dual Mikuni Carbs.

I've heard mixed feelings regarding this setup. Some say they are hard to get running perfect, some say better with a single Mikuni etc, etc.

Anybody who has tried this setup, runs it now or knows anything about this setup please enlighten me.

A bike with it below & it's on my Ebay watch list

Nevermind, i contacted Rivera by email and they answered my questions. When asked to prove or show evidence that the Rivera Intake & dual Mikuni carbs performed better then a good single, the reply was.......................

Stay with a single,unless you are going for the look.

Thank You

Multiple carburetors or throttle bodies will all ways outperform one large single if there on separate manifolds aka one per barrel on normally aspirated engines. It has more to do with velocity then CFM to get fuel atomization right. IMAO sticking 20 carbs on a common manifold has more to do with the cool factor then performance.

Those dual Mikuni's really cost folks a ton of dough, for nothing, and in most cases lost horsepower, from what we had seen on our dyno.
On the other hand, we developed/sold a "Cross-Ram" manifold, that used either 2 S&S B cabs, or 2 S&S D carbs, that worked EXTREMELY WELL.
Example;
California-based AHDRA racer, PWMorris, over on the HTT message board used that 'Double D" set-up to steal the show at dyno shoot-out years ago, on a 131"er, and it was featured on Cobin's "Ride" TV program.
Rick Muse, of Salem NH, used the B version on his record-setting 107" XL, that went 8.58 @ 152 plus mph, @ Maple Grove Raceway, PA.
We used the B version on our AHDRA 108" racer years ago as well.
It falls into the catagory of "Proper Prior Planning, Prevents Pi$$-Poor Procedure".

Sounds good Scott. I'll have a browse at your website & have a look at your "Cross-Ram" manifold.

Cheers.

for the street, all it would be is bling factor. multiple carbs are not rocket science if like was brought out, dual plane.
the fueling of the 45* separation angle causes a reverse pulse which can have negative impact under the right circumstances with a single plane. due to this, a multiple carb is difficult to syn.
