Default Best cam for s&s 106 big bore with s&s heads

Wondering what the best s&s cam would be for my possible 106 big bore upgrade. Heads would be 79cc s&s heads. Thanks.

Im curious about this too. I was told S&S 551 easy starts would work well. I was also thinking Woods 555

I just did a SE 103" upgrade on my Dyna and went with the S&S 583 easy start gear drive cams, I love the fact that I don't need compression releases and she starts right up, sounds a little funny when I shut it off some times but I'm very happy with them. went with the 583 for the lower RPM power curve I have not dynoed it yet, not racing anyone and don't realy care

You will be @ 11.0 cr, with a .030" head gasket.
The S&S cam that fits that compression is a .625.
It run at a projected, corrected ratio of 9.3.
The Wood 555 or the other S&S cam you mentioned will carry waaaaaaaaay too much ccp.

.625`s would be the ticket for a real nice hotrod build, but if your looking for a low end, torquey build, you might want to think about just having your stocks heads done (milder touring headwork,85cc would open up alot more "touring" cams like the S&S 551,or .583 & woods 555

We most often utilize the 570 for baggers and 585 for non-baggers easy starts coupled w/ our Silver Bullet Heads.

Last fall we built a 107"er/S&S .570/our Stage II Heads/bored t/body/Rhinehart duals, for a client from Syracuse, N.Y.
He let 3 of his bud's ride the bike.
We have 4 jobs coming in from that.

So after much thought and discussion, going with the s&s 89cc heads with 570 ez start cams. Any thoughts or comments. Should pull hard up to 4800 - 4900 rpm.I think
