My question is this; i bought a 2009 iron and it came with a screaming eagle intake, now i want to add some V&H short shots and a V&H fuel pack but i dont know if the previous owner had tuned the motorcycle for the screaming eagle intake. will i damage my engine if i install the V&H short shots and fuel pack if the ECM had a tune already? or will the V&H fuel pack just over ride the tune made for the screaming eagle intake??

 

Depends on what kind of tune was done. If it was just the dealer download you can find out by taking it in and having them check it. If not the download, it could have been reflashed with another tuner or has a piggyback unit. I would not buy the Fuelpak until you figure out what you have. It's possible you actually have a better tuner than the Fuelpak, so do some research first. And if it turns out you just have the download you can try the Fuelpak, but those Short Shots are known for a lot of decel pop and you might be better off with a more advance fuel management system.

 

The bike seems completely stock, only screaming eagle intake. I see no piggy back tuner either. I got this 2009 a week ago with 3000 miles...good mileage? ? So A new tuner would just override the previous harley or whatever tune it might have? Sorry im new to all this
