Question S&S High Performance Tappets and adjustable pushrods

I have a 2005 Lower Rider with a little over 30,000 miles on it I am upgrading to the S&S 509 G cams with direct gear drive eliminating the chain drive adjuster issues the 88's have. My mechanic is also pushing me to put in new high performance tappets and adjustable pushrods in at the same time. Is there any plausable reason to spend the 400.00 more or should my stock tappets and push rods be fine in the long haul..

HD say`s to inspect the lifters @ 25K,if youve go the B lifters (your tech should know by looking at them),ide think theyde be OK,along with the p/rods.if anyone ever tells you that the lifters MUST be changed with a new cam set,run to another shop, their either rip offs or dont know crap

The "B" lifter in your bike has more life in it than 30,000.
Don't get me wrong, as we use a metric ton of S&S lifters, and their pushrods are the ONLY ones we use here also.
With that tame little cam that is going in, I'd have to say your OEM lifters would be fine.
BTW, quick tip for your guy, is to load that lifter to .140"-150" to insure, and maintain proper lifter load, and quiet operation at full operating temps.

The stock lifters are the weakest point on the top end of the twin cam
