It was owned by an older gentleman who only used it... My son just picked up this 2002, completely stock 883 except for the Progressive shocks and different grips, with only 3600 miles on it, for $3500. It was owned by an older gentleman who only used it to commute to work, and is now retired. The guy had it fully serviced, fresh oil in engine and primary, and new filter. He also had them replace both tires along with the service before he listed it for sale since they were outdated. All service records came with the bike, as well as owners manual and original purchase papers. Bike is flawless.

Bought of an advert last week totally unexpected, not too expensive, two previous owners (both women), and obviously well taken care of - my 2001 XL53c.



Sitting at home with a typical spring cold and five cups of coffee browsing motorcycle adverts usually ends in exhaustion, making more coffee, mostly just going back to bed. Not this time.



Besides dangerously old tires and an overdue oil change, it was rideable. It wasn't too small for me. In fact it was like nothing I've ever ridden. So I bought it and rode it home, it took several hours, luckily the weather agreed.



After changing oils and oil filter, checking the air cleaner, belt and sprockets, swapping to new spark plugs and a new throttle wire, greasing up the gas handle, it runs like butter, .. thunderbutter, whipping my brains to cream ;)



Old bike, I feel lucky. No leaking, motor runs well besides an occasional 'tick' (or missfire) when cutting throttle and shortly after twisting the handle again. I'll better learn to clean the carb. I understand it needs regular cleaning.

I've ordered new tires and tubes, realized the rear tire may not need a tube. And some more oil. You can never stock enough oil and filters ;)
