I have a 2008 Street Glide with an aftermarket Sony DSX-M80 Bluetooth radio. My question is, can you play music from the Sony head unit through your speakers in your fairing and the intercom speakers in your helmet at the same time? I have the LS2 Spectrum comm unit and I can connect it to the radio, but I can't get any music in my helmet speakers from the radio, only in the fairing. Am I doing something wrong or is it something that can't be done. Thanks for any help!

I just installed new Neo 690 6 x 9's in my system. Everything worked out as expected originally. The audio system was working normally except I had a mild turn off pop. I installed a time delay circuit on my amp remote line coming from the DSR1 blue and white remote output wire. The time delay was connected to 12 V and ground and the blue / white wire was connected to the input on the time delay device. The output of the time delay device was connected to the amp turn on terminals for each of the two amps. It did not work. I lost the turn on signal all together. Then I removed the timer and reconnected the same as it was orginally connected that have previously been working fine. Again no turn on signal. I am no longer getting 12 volts DC to my blue and white amp trigger so my DSR1 and amps are not turning on anymore.

This is on a 2019 CVO Street Glide with two aftermarket amps using the original Harley Wires with Rockford amp bypasses installed. The Sound Design 400.2 is running the new rear Neo 690 6 x9's and in front is a DS18 1600.4 running the front Ground Zero Yellow Baskets in the upper and lower fairings. So it is a 6 speaker , two amp setup on an American Hardbags DSR1 T-Harness. I am getting 14 volts at both amps. In fact if I run normal system DC voltage to the remote termal of each amp from the battery positive each plays music just fine. They both fire right up.

The DSR1 shows a white status light when the bike is set to ACC / RUN. I verified that there is no signal voltage coming from the DSR1 blue / white remote line so the amps are not turning on. The light goes out when you turn the bike off like normal. I have tried both DC Detect ON and DC Detect OFF. No change....

The DSR1 was pulled out and bench tested and is functioning. It is accepting programming just fine while connected to a laptop by usb. I updated the DSR1 Bluetooth update, then used the specifc configuartor selecting my bike, T-Harness and the GTS radio setting. Then I updated the firmware to the latest version. I then reinstalled the DSR1 and verified the yellow ands black input voltage to the DSR1 was delivering normal system DC voltage 12 + volts. I verified there is continuity from the amps remote terminals to the input pin on the DSR 1 wire harmess. No shorts in the blue and white wire. As near as I can tell I am not receiving the startup signal from the CANBUS system from the radio / head unit. The head unit plays fine using a wireless headset. I did make sure the head unit was set to speakers.

I reflashed the BCM to the "SOUNDZ" profile using a Techno programmer. No change.

Anyone have any ideas? I did a hard reset on the BCM by disconnecting power and ground at the battery for a few hours. Reconnected but no change. I reset the head unit / radio. Again no change. Again I am not getting 12 volt to the blue and white trigger wire on start up.

I verified there are no shorts in the T-Harness or DSR1 line that I could locate using a DC Wire Circut Tracing device.

I also tried connecting the solid blue wire from the DSR1 to the purple / blue switched accessory port and still no change. The system would not turn the amps on.

I checked all the fuses and the connections at the battery.

This is bizaar....

Any suggestions would be welcome... thanks in advance. At this point I am out of ideas.

Howdy all,

For many years I've used Windows Media Player (recently called the Legacy version) to rip my CDs to my PC. It's worked beautifully and is drop dead simple. I don't really download music, I just buy CDs when I feel like it, so this has been my go to method of managing my music. Also the playlists I create in WMP show up and play properly on my GTS head unit. Just recently Microsoft disabled the ability of WMP to download CD info (because, well, it's just a Microsoft thing to do).

Does anyone know of any other software that will rip CDs (at any preferred bitrate) and import track and album art? It's really annoying that Microsoft did this but given all the trouble they've caused us a work these past few years it doesn't surprise me.

I just installed new Neo 690 6 x 9's in my system. During the install two DTC codes popped up U0185 and U186. The detail for the code is a "fail to communicate with amp 1 and amp 2". The DTC faults will not clear. I am also no longer getting 12 volts to my blue and white amp trigger so my DSR1 and amps are not turning on anymore.
It is accepting programming just fine while connect to a laptop by usb. I updated the DSr1 firmware and software including the Bluetooth update. The system was actually running fine after the speaker install but I had a turn off pop and was attempting to troubleshoot that issue when the DTC codes popped up and I lost communication between the amps, DSr1 and the radio. As near as I can tell I am not receiving the startup signal from the CANBUS system from the radio / head unit. The head unit plays fine using a wireless headset. I did make sure the head unit was set to speakers.

Anyone have any ideas? I did a hard reset on the BCM by disconnecting power and ground at the battery for a few hours. Reconnected but no change. I reset the head unit / radio. Again no change. Again I am not getting 12 volt to the blue and white trigger wire on start up. I also jumped each amp to 12 to 14 volts and each fires right up when voltage is applied directly.
Any suggestions would be welcome... thanks in advance.

Curse me as a audiophile, I do not care. I like to feel my music in my spine.

Situation is that above 30 or 40 MPH, doesn't matter how high I turn the volume up, cannot hear it. Worse when I wear a modular helmet in cold weather.

Tired of going without.

Looking at the LS2 Avantage X with blue tooth Carbon helmet. Whoa! 900 bucks!

My question, does the bluetooth speakers in blue tooth helmets work that good?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Hi All,

I'm looking at buying an older HERTZ 300 watt amp from a bud.

He has a 21 Street Glide I have a 21 Ultra Limited. I've verified the harness adapter he has is used for both bikes. (He has 2 speakers in the dash, I have an additional 2 speakers with my tour pak.)

Next I learn I need the techno research flash for my oem boom to marry it. Closest dealer is over an hour away, should cost $100-$150 I'll hear back from the vendor tomorrow this isn't available from a Harley dealer.

The flash tool is about $500. Can a private owner use his flash module on my bike ? If so and if anyone has one and willing to do it for less let me know. I'm in the Scranton Wilkes-Barre area a little North of Scranton.

The OEM system isn't bad. Of course more is better but in this case yeah money is an issue. I can be pretty happy without it. Man, soo many rabbit holes. If I buy the amp it's going to be about $200.

Thanks for Reading,

Joe
