Our trip to Iceland

So every year, my wife and I take anniversary vacation trip abroad. This year we decided to go to Iceland and just my luck while we were there on May 1, Iceland was celebrating national motorcycle day. 😂 here are some of the pictures for our Trip.

Kojak's day on Skyline Drive

My wife asked me to go riding on Skyline yesterday, I said sure but can we take the road king this time? We had a awesome 4 hours riding this morning, left at 9 and came back at 1pm.

Waterfall Wandering

Leaving tomorrow morning for sw NC....specifically near Rosman, Brevard and Lake Toxaway. We've got several days available to ride, eat, sightsee and relax. Anticipated stops and destinations include, Highlands, NC, Cullasaja Gorge, US-276, NC-215, Sylva/Dillsboro, Lake Jocassee, Helen, GA....and every good waterfall we can find along the way. Weather forecast looks perfect for riding. We rented a nice airbnb home near Rosman. I can already taste some tableside guac and a Cadillac margarita at Los Vaqueros tomorrow evening.

Rode down from Reno to Arizona Bike Week 2026 - what a blast! We didn't get a chance to attend last year, so we were really looking forward to going. The official Scottsdale rally was a ton of fun! Great turnout this year, much larger and better attended than a few years back. Great ride, great event, tons of fun.

We are off to the Windy 9 Friday morning from Winchester Va. I've ridden all over the USA but somehow never made it to this part of the country. We'll ride through Monday and head back home on Tuesday. Looking forward to a good trip and I will post updates every night as usual.

Parking a bike in New Orleans

I am putting together a 1k mile road trip in June that will take me into NOLA for a couple of days. I will be alone. I am thinking about how safe is it or isn't to park there overnight at a lower end motel/room. I travel light and tend to grab a $75 room when I can find one, and with that comes the parking concern. I'm on a 96 Dyna that I will take the bags and trunk into the room at night.But, what about the bike? No alarm, no camera, no tracking pod, no chain, no BS.

Anyone have any advice or insight into this? I have not been back to NOLA since before Katrina, but I'm sure it's still good ole NO... watch you back! But I also don't like to overreact. Would you park your bike overnight in NO?

Day 11 on my Cleveland to Key West Ride: I rode to St Augustine today. Tomorrow morning I'm meeting a friend for breakfast and then heading to North Carolina.

I left Key West this morning, starting the ride back home to Ohio. My first stop was the Nation's Smallest Post Office. Along the way, I met a few friendly alligators!

Cleveland to Key West

I left Ohio 9 days ago for Key West. The plan was that I'd ride down there, and my wife would fly down and join me for a few days. The ride was terrific; the weather was good, and I really enjoyed riding the trike for an extended time. I stopped in Daytona Beach for two days, then headed to Altamonte Springs to visit a friend. And then on to Key West. Tomorrow, I head back to Ohio.
