A little over a year ago, I installed a set of OEM heated grips on my early 2024 model. Since it was an early production bike, they needed to be software-enabled, but I didn’t have time to get it to my dealer right away.

Later, while riding in North Carolina, we stopped at a Harley dealer and I asked if they could do a quick software flash. They did, but still couldn’t get the grips working. At the time, I declined any further diagnosis since it was spring, riding season was here, and I already had plans to change out the bars and grips anyway.

A few weeks ago, I installed new pre-wired bars along with a different set of grips (Adversary Silver), and…

Still no luck.

The heated grip icon appears during startup when all the indicator lights cycle, but once the bike is running, pressing the button does nothing.

At this point, I’ve had:

Two separate grip installations

Two different sets of grips

Two separate handlebar wiring harnesses

…and the exact same result each time.

This makes me think the issue is either:

A problem with the original software flash/update

Or an issue somewhere in the main bike harness itself.

Anyone have any thoughts (yes, I am going to take it to the dealer, but I am sure it’s not going to be cheap for something that was likely broken from the factory)

Good afternoon, have a 2024 Street Glide. I have owned it for about a year now. I’ve had 4 Check Engine Lights come on.

late last year I was riding 4 hours through interstate 20 when the CEL came on. No issues making it to my destination. Upon restarting bike CEL went away and no issues making the it back home.

Fast forward, got a Limp mode that happens while riding. Harley says it’s probably an issue with my throttle cable connection but per their service history they did not “repair” anything and just readjusted and cleared codes.

Two months later about two weeks ago was riding and CEL came on with no codes. No issues while riding. CEL went away. This morning went to go turn it on and CEL is back on with no codes.

has anyone experienced anything like this, could it be a Skyline OS glitch? Not accounting for the limp mode I’m sure something was wrong at the time but why am I getting CEL with no codes? Harley hasn’t given me any information at the dealership

Picked it up last night. Wow, what a difference between a 2014 Ultra Ltd and the 2026 RG Ltd. The handling is incredible. Going down the 4-lane I was wondering if the speedo was accurate (80 mph felt like 60 mph). Man they did a nice job with airflow and eliminating buffeting. The riding position is very comfortable.
I thought I would have to get a different seat (I'm 6'1") but I'm not so sure. A Softbrake and some floorboard spacers and I might be fine.
Will take some time to get used to the cable clutch (feels like it "clicks" when I shift) and the new controls. I had to pull over last evening to find the high beam switch lol.

You'll have to ignore the $hit spreader in the background - luckily he's downwind.

I ride a 2025 SGU, purchased in June of 2025, that currently has 2200 miles on it. Last week on my way home from work my bike lurched as I was decelerating to turn into my drive. It "coughed" and then went into a very high idle. The check engine light came on at the same time. The next day, I loaded the bike in my trailer and took it to the dealer. They told me that the code shown was a cam position sensor error and that when they took the cover off of the cam to check it that they found "milky" oil in that area. The also said that the oil on my dipstick was a little milky. The service writer seems like a solid, knowledgeable guy, so I'm not saying I think he is a dumbass with any of my following comments. He asked me if I ever start my bike and not allow it to get up to operating temp. I admitted that I occasionally do, but that it is not that frequently. The approach to my garage is on an incline and we have to jockey vehicles around a few times a week during riding season depending on needs. I have to back it out so that my wife can leave with one of her vehicles and then I start it to run it back up into the garage. This is my 4th touring HD in the last 15 years. I have never had an issue like this before and I'm not doing anything different. The dealer changed my motor oil and filter and then took the bike on 2, 30 minutes rides. Codes gone and bike runs fine.

The majority of my riding is to and from work. We do weekend rides with a church group once a month and usually take one long bike trip a year. Headed to Texas in June BTW. Looking forward to it! From March to October I ride to work as much as possible. It is a 10 mile ride and takes me 10-15 minutes, depending on how fast I ride. I tend to run slow in the morning, usually 45-50 mph. I got the bike home last night and rode to work today. Ambient temp was 55 degrees and the oil was 68 degrees when I started the bike. The ride to work took 15 minutes and my oil was 172 degrees when I got to work. Is this ride long enough and does my oil get hot enough on my ride to work to prevent this moisture issue? I don't want my short commute to be damaging my bike.
Ideas??
Also it has an engine light on. I followed directions and went into the alert menu and all categories show no alerts.
I did the new IFCU update this weekend and no joy.

So guys, just write to share with you what happened to my bike

Last saturday, took it for a ride. About 5 KM from home i saw the Check engine light blinking (just as a turn signal) - never have i seen that before.

When i got home, turned it off and noticed the fan didnt stay on as usual. Bike was very hot, but mind I say, it did not feel THAT hot between the legs.. probably the same as a not cooled twin cam. I grabbed the computer to connect it to the thundermax software and I could not get the bike to start again.... So i waited for over an hour.. the heat by that time was still present... tank was hot, engine was hot.. everything.. but it fired on.. Thundermax showed 416F engine head temp, overheating, and some ETC errors

Yesterday we started to look for the problem, checked all sensors, oil level, coolant level, and we noticed that the fan was OK, working but was not activating at all when the bike was on... So we disconnected one of the radiator hoses to see if the pump was running the coolant and, No.. no flow at all. We took the pump apart to do some more testing and found out it was not working. I heard these pumps were giving problems all over the board.. so i guess it was just my turn.
We opened it and .. damm... just as the pictures I´ve seen on other forums... very nasty. As we had nothing better to do, we decided to open the faulty coolant pump to see what was going on inside, the result is even nastier. It looks like water/coolant got into the internal components or as if the bike had been flooded.

Evidently this problem had been going for a while until the point of total pump breakdown. Ordered the part yesterday and in case you wonder if harley has done any improvement on this part: nope, Part number is still the same for 2026 bikes as the one that has been used since 2023 for the cvos...

But...I still love my bike.. one of the best rides i´ve had. So.. carry on!

Here are some pictures:
