What would cause this Front Tire failure?

This is a stock HD Dunlop tire on the front of a 21 SGS with just under 13k miles.

Tire repair pressure is closely monitored and always at 36psi.

We rode the bike a few days ago for 89 miles and I did not notice anything out of the ordinary.

While installing a new tire I saw this and was shocked.

There Ie a dimple around each slit.

The inside of the tire looks and feels perfect.

Could this be caused from an impact ?

New tires now on front & rear.

Any advice on getting to people who really love a rare, single owner FXS? I still have the original paperwork & Warranty Card...etc., etc.....

The end of an era

As I sadly watched my road king pulling away from my house on the back of a trailer, I realized what a big change was coming. At my age, I felt that the bike was just two top heavy for me and it was only a matter of time before I would dump it. Wasn't a matter of strength, but balance. So I had decided I needed something lighter and lower.. my choices were Softail Slim, Deluxe, or fat boy. Found a really nice Deluxe at my dealership in my favorite color, purple! Went Friday to check it out, but instead fell in love with this 2015 fat boy. The price was right, the bike showroom Flawless and low miles, and they offered me a decent trade in.. so I pulled the trigger so to speak. The fat boy is lower and much easier to handle at slow speeds and kickstand time. I know I violated my cardinal rule about buying a used bike from a dealership, but I had been tired of looking through Craigslist and Marketplace, so I went for it. What really attracted me to the bike was that besides being dead mint showroom condition, it was 100% bone stock.. so any mods that I do I know we'll be done right.. if I even do any at all. Now I can enjoy riding again without the worry of a mishap.

Radar detectors

Just curious if any of you have or had a radar detector on any of your bikes, and if so what brand and how did it work in terms of being able to hear any alert or see the screen. I wear a half helmet most of the time except for cold and rain so hearing would be an issue especially since I now have only one working ear. I�ve had radar detectors in my cars for many years and can�t count the number of times they almost certainly saved me from getting a ticket. I probably won�t spend the money getting one for my bike but even now at my older age, I still have a need for speed.:icon_bike:

New Sturgis Custom Paint Set?

While cruising the web the other day I came across pictures of what appeared to be a new factory Custom Paint Set from the MoCo that looked like an homage to the '81 FXB Sturgis, it was black with red lettering. I've been looking around and can't find what I saw before so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen it?

Dumb/rookie mistakes...not while riding

We're all proud motorcycle owners/riders. Most of us with a decent mechanical knowledge, that you dont find in your typical cager nowadays. But we've all made at least one dumb mistake when working on our bikes. Whether it was forgetting a drain pan, or plug, or gasket, or the like we're not proud to admit. Figured this would make a funny topic, so heres my latest lol

I have my heritage still in the garage, yet to change out the rear shock and front bar swap that I planned before this season. While its parked, I wanted to swap out my front signals with a different setup. After I swapped them, I had to run the 4ways to re-learn the leds. Welp, I got about a minute or two in, and putting stuff away I realized they stopped. I didnt have the tender on it, and its been sitting since November. Needless to say, I pulled a muscle in my leg trying to kick my own ***.

I saw this bike last night.
Not my style, but boy, was this thing Pretty, really nice, really, really nice job.
I don't know if this is something harley, put out, or if this guy had this done.But it was sharp pictures, don't do it justice.

For those of us who are old enough to remember when On Any Sunday came out, I'm sad to have to report that Mert Lawwill passed away yesterday. Mert was a fantastic motorcycle racer and star of that movie. As Bruce Brown said about him in the movie " Mert Lawwill is a gentleman in a violent world ". I had the pleasure of watching him race many, many times. Rest in peace, Mert, I'll miss you.

Tall Guys -Harley Jackets Tall

I�ve been trying to find a mesh armored jacket for the summer but in a tall. I�ve tried numerous jackets (many different brands) but none fit right, the closet i�ve found to fitting correct was a Harley Mesh Trenton jacket in an xxl but the elbow pads drape below where they should be protecting.

where are the tall/large wingspan guys buying jackets? I�ve seen that maybe harley makes, or did make, xlt sizes but i sure can�t find them.

Are you guys using a tailor or just saying screw it ?
