I have 32,000 miles on my 2019 TriGlide with no real issues. I have heard that some schools of thought indicate changing the lifters and pushrods after 30,000 miles. Have done some research and have seen that a few long time mechanics believe this to be a good move to eliminate problems down the road. Just am curious as to what the thoughts are on doing this on a motor that has no problems at the present time.

Hi All,
My 2002 FLSTC with a Twin Cam 88 won't idle and backfires when decelerating. I opened up the carb bowl and it was clean and the low speed jet looked OK. Any ideas? I assume maybe a vacuum leak on the intake but from where? The seal around the carb was very tight. I recently removed the front exhaust pipe to check the cam chain tensioners and put it back together with the same exhaust doughnut. It does not appear to be leaking exhaust and if it is it may cause a backfire, but I don't think it would have anything to do with not idling properly. Your thoughts?
Thanks

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2000 Road king without the engine and transmission pretty cheap. Also a 2014 103 and 6 speed transmission and wiring harness off of a triglide. My question is if i have the engine transmission and wiring harness off of the 2014 bike what all would be needed to swap it into the 2000 frame.

Hi, doing cam chain tensioners, lifters and inner cam bearings on a TC 88. I did not remove the oil pump from the cam plate and didn’t plan on it, but I’m wondering if it will be worth the risk of the alignment or not. Should I or is it ok to leave it?

also, for the alignment if you have to spin the rear wheel while tightening and the cam chain and sprockets are off - how do you get them in alignment and not 180 off? Worried about timing.

bike has 26,000 miles.
