for sure its a VL could it be a variant VLD _ VLH _ 1930 to 1936 very nice machine 3 speed trans for the most part most were 74 Cubic inches some were 80 inch engines the front brake is on the left bar making it a thing if your not driving one a lot in a panic stop = some of the parts are a carry over from the JD series I like driving the one I had in the shop I might have a picture of it it was a 1935 VLD

Thanks a lot for that information! I thought it was a 45 cu. in. Picture is of an Uncle now deceased.

John nailed it, I have nothing to add except cool to have pics of your Uncle on a cool old bike.
