Linkert carburetor cleaning

Hello all,

I just got done deep cleaning a Linkert m88 carb in carb cleaner.
Does anyone know is there anything wrong with glass bead blasting the carb to make it cleaner?

Asking for trouble Scottie. Really hard to keep/get ALL the beads out afterwards.
How about using walnut media? Still a problem, but less abrasive if it gets into the engine.
Just my 2 cents

I’m thinking that if I plug all openings so not to get anything in any port it should work out.

I have to admit I have done it many times on carbs, just not on my expensive rebuilt M88 Linkert.
Get all the oil/grease residue of by soaking in lacquer thinner, gas or something similar.
Blow it dry with air pressure.
Do all your taping/plugging
Blast it
Use compressed air to get most of the beads out (betting you will have some in there !)
Wash in hot soapy water
Blow it dry with compressed air
Wash it once more with hot soapy water
Blow it dry with compressed air.

Overkill? Maybe.

Baking soda is what we use nothing else does what that does and has no issues afterwards

I’m big on over kill, to a point where it’s just plain ****

baking soda good idea! Can it be used in a blast machine ? Where can you purchase it in 25lb or 50lb?

Small box at the food store if its a one time deal - Home Depot has a 5 pound box i use - yes in the glass machine but its not glass - 30 seconds and you cant see anymore - we hand hold out side in a pot beader
