You know, that could be the OP's answer right there. If you're not logged in, then the web site software can't possibly know what the last post you read was.

You'd have to be logged in if you want to go back where you were.

I reckon it is the the way he has his settings. I have mine set to go in the order posted, not newest like apparently most of you. But there is a blue button, in the upper left corner of the first poet's avatar, that takes you to the first unread post.

Being logged in or not is the correct answer. If for some reason hdforums doesn't keep you logged in and you go to one of the threads in your notifications it will send you to the first post in the thread. If you're logged in however it will take you to that notified post in that thread. Thanks for the help.....

How can you NOT be logged in when you are viewing your subscriptions?

If you get email notifications of new posts in subscribed threads, there will be a link in the email. If you click on that link it will take you to the thread, even if you're not logged in. You can read just like any "Guest", you just won't be able to post if you're not logged in.

It's an e-mai notification. Tapping the link does not require logging in... Just make sure you check the "remember me" box when logging in....

Tried this several times, did not make any difference. Probably just need to live with it.
