Suggeston in light of the recent chaos:

Remove the ads for paying club members. If you do this, I'll gladly join the HDF club again. I'm not going to pay just to post in a certain forum(s). Imho, that would be a win-win for all. ETA: I think more than a few would pony up for an ad free experience...

Look at it this way. The ads will give you ideas on how to spend more of your money and help the economy....

I've thought the same thing about my Dish service...I'm paying them but they're still showing commercials. They're not listening to me...or a gazillion others who think the same way. And it probably won't happen here either.
