Popups aren't our responsibility

Popups aren't our responsibility
I've read the stickies, and I'm not installing an ad blocker on my phone. I don't these popups on other sites. This site has malware, that's just the crux of the issue. Admins should be looking at what is allowing ad popups that they're not receiving income from. I like this site, but popups are bad this morning, and the admins need to look into it.

I'm not saying that I'm entitled to something from the free site. These "ads" are deceptive; at best they are taking you to a site that isn't for the brand it claims to be, and at worst, they can install malware on your phone, tablet, or computer. Sure, you or I can install software that might or might not prevent that, but that's not the point - the website is hosting software that they didn't authorize. They may well be spreading malware or adware. I'm not trying to express my attitude problem, I'm trying to say that the site has a problem.

Look I don't know why you're getting bombarded with ads.
I'm a paid member, not that that has anything to do with it.
I have a couple of ad blockers and I don't see any ads.
Probably just jinxed myself, the only ads I see are on the far right border
and I've grown accustomed to them and no longer notice they're there.

I think you're right. The "bad" ads often come from the "good" ads - the third party provider who pays the site to show ads and provides them is often the target of less honest folks who find ways to use them to cause the popups. I wasn't sure if they were getting in that way or finding a way to hack the site's search feature or some other method, but if you don't get a lot of popups because you see fewer paid ads, that sounds about right.
Thanks for supporting the site, by the way. It's a good resource, and since I have a Harley now, I'll probably pay too in the near future.
