Default Opinions regarding the plunger suspension (Amen Savior)

Hi from Kingsport TN.
I've been working on a project bike a few years and hopefully will have it on the road spring 2017. I've read a lot of bad reviews about the Amen Savior frames so if you have any experience with these, please give me your opinion with what I can expect. I hope the finished bike will allow me to road trip reliably. There are pics of the bike on my profile. Other companies have made plunger frames so I hope I'm guessing correctly that it is a Savior product.

In the blue bar above there is a Search facility. If you enter 'Amen Savior' and press Go you will get just 85 hits! May be worth going through them, to see if there is anything helpful. As you can see there is very little around HDF on them.

I don't have any direct experience with Amen plunger frames but would like to mention some issues you might have.. These frames were more popular back in the 60 and 70s and were based early brit bikes that had them.. The main issue is each side of the suspension is not coupled to the other.. This causes problems with keeping the rear wheel inline with the frame. Handling will be poor, especially at speed. Read the section here on plunger frames.

If you are planning to ride long distances. I would get something else.. I would also limit the speed at which you ride the bike.. Also don't try and use a belt system on the rear wheel. You'll likely bust belts or roll them off the pulleys..

I had one on a pan head build I did back in the mid 70's. They were junk then and still junk now. Bike was a squirrel. Never went down the road straight. We ended up cutting the plunger off and putting axle plates on it.
