Default Fork seal driver tool

I have a 97 FXDWG w the 41mm forks. I am ordering the Progressive heavy duty front springs. Getting all new seals and bearing etc.

Anyone have a Macgyver solution to help me from dropping the $50 on the Motion pro driver tool

What I have used for years, even back to my dirt bike day's is a piece of hard vacuum cleaner tube that I cut just a little less in half. I'm sure someone will discourage this method, however I have done hundreds of fork seals and luckily haven't damaged one yet. Hope this works out for you.

I've used a socket that's just a bit smaller than the seal od and fits in the fork tube. Turn the socket over so the flat top is against the seal. Put an 8" extension into the square hole in the socket and use a brass hammer to drive it home. The brass won't bugger up the end of the 8" extension.

A length of pvc pipe that fits. May need to sand a taper around the outside if it’s a bit to big. You can tap on the end of the pipe.with a hammer to drive them in.

As stated a piece of 1 1/2 sch 80 pvc pipe. Split it down the middle and make it longer than the fork upper tube so you can tap the seal in with a hammer.

PVC tubing in some instances ... OR ... I use to make my own out of a piece of exhaust tubing and "swaging" it to the proper dimension ... Stop by a muffler shop, they'll probably do it with a piece of scrap for free :>)
