shock to pulley distance?

shock to pulley distance?
Hi all,
Had the bags off my bike the other day ( 06 police e-glide)and saw something that concerned me. Pulley is darn near rubbing shock. I don't think you could slip a playing card through there. Looked at some of the bikes at the dealers and they seem to have about 1/4". Bike has no handling issues whatsoever, goes down the road straight when I take my hands off the bars, is not wearing the belt funny, do I need to worry about this?
