What's the biggest tire that can fit on 16x3 rim?

I have been running 150/80-16's on my stock FXR rim. Both Metzeler 880 and Avon Venom cupped out on the edges before the tire was used up running 40-44 psi respectively. I am going to try a 140/90 Dunlop Elite III next and see what the results are.

I have a 150 on a 16x3 rim. It's a Dunlop that comes in a wide tire kit for my 2000 Softail. I've not had any problems with it. I could probably come up with a part number if needed.

My 2005 standard came stock with a 150, Ithink you can go to a 160 according to Metzler's web site..
