Default Softail strut compatability

Gents, I have a project in the works, I am trying to replace the stock rear fender on my blackline, however the struts I want to use are normal size struts compared to my current blackline struts (blackline has smaller struts and distance from mounting holes are shorter than normal). So, basically, Harley has various models of softails based on the same frame (correct me) if so, the normal struts should bolt up to the rear of the frame as normal (again please correct me) thanks in advance for any input.

(The reason I want normal struts rather than the blackline struts is because I am going a different route making a custom bagger and need the conversion brackets for the hard saddlebags)
