Default 2018 Fat Bob catless headers

Any plans on producing a "catless" head pipe to fit the stock heatshields on the new 2018 Fat Bob?

Nothing currently in the works, however that may change once more aftermarket systems come to market for the 18 Softails and we see how they trend. Definitely a possibility, especially if we get enough feedback

Thanks Jamie, I for one would be interested in them. I ordered the Rinehart slip-ons from you guys because I like the look of the factory exhaust.

Cant wait until they get here!

Thinking about getting an FP3 for my 17. I need something simple, and I don't want to get a laptop to manage it. I downloaded the fp3 app yesterday, seems pretty simple to work.

Just take the cats out of the existing down pipes.. super easy.. cut them at the balance pipe, drill them out, weld them up.. but then again why spend money on mufflers, just drill the stock ones out with a 30mm core drill and powder coat them satin black.. see, saved you hundreds of dollars

Hi All. We have Just purchased a 2018 fxffbs 114 and are in the process of making personal modifications. The bike came with the Street Cannons not real loud!! I have just pulled the cats out. Bit of a difference. We are also Lowering 1.5 inch to suit 5.2" wife(different thread) so havnt been able to test on the road yet. I pulled the pipes off and cut one out at a time. How did I keep same bends etc? We welded two flat plates with a tac on both sides of tailpipe section. Simply then cut one out at a time. Finished them off with some heatproof satin black.

What are your thoughts on going to a single pipe as per the picture I have edited? I think this would enhance the scavenging of the standard pipes. A simple 2 into 1 into 2 insert kit could be made.

Sorry to revive an old thread but are the stock pipes stainless? Planning on doing this mod too since no one makes an aftermarket piece that maintains the lines.

Yes they are stainless not sure what grade, I used a tig welder. This is what I ended up making sorry the better picture is on my phone. I used 1 7/8” 45 degree bends for the cross over and straight pipe to step up diameter to remove the cats. I re mapped with a power vision and the performance change was very noticeable. Great note and in my view not too loud and certainly no louder than many other Harley pipes. I am very surprised nobody has made this as an aftermarket header.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. You used 1 7/8 for the straight piece too? Or jumped up to a single 2 or 2.5? Thinking about removing the mufflers all together and just doing two 3 or 3.5” tips.
