How would the size 40 fit compared to HD sizes? Med? L?

 

I had the opposite problem last year and dropped 84 lbs so with a broken heart I had to sell all my riding gear including my leather jacket which was my absolute favorite piece of gear! I am in the market for a replacement. Am curious about the Classic jacket. I am 5' 9" and weight 168. Still losing weight with plans to drop another 13 lbs or so. My jackets have only ever been the typical S, M, L, XL, XXL, etc type measurements. I do have a blazer that is 38 and one that is 40. Any thoughts on how the sizing might be relevant?

For anyone asking, HD lists their Medium at 38-40, so these should be close to the same size as a Medium.
