Default 06 vs 09 Heritage Classic?

I asked this in the Softail Forum as well. What is the difference? Besides 3 years, 88b 5 speed vs 96b 6 speed? I have an 09 and like it a lot...sweet bike. My fav dealer has an 06 that is just awesome looking. I am not into hot rodding LOL.....just reliability and comfort. Thanks.

I have an 06 and love it. It is a great bike but...... If not for the fact that I also have an 2011 Ultra Limited, I would have sold it and bought one with a six speed. A few other differences like auto primary chain adjust but pretty much the same bike.

well the 06 is a carb'd. That does not matter to me. As long as it is reliable and looks good is all that really matters to me. I would be going to a 3 yr older bike of same model. I do not know enough about the differences to know what they are. Unfortunately I hop on and ride and if something wrong I take it to the mechanic.

I own a '05 Deluxe EFI. I've been considering my "last bike ever" purchase down the road as being an '05 or so Deluxe carb. Understanding that at some point I'll have to address the cam tensioners. I'd look for an Evo, but Deluxe don't come that way and not into converting a heritage.

Owned an '09 Dyna with the 96 and 6 speed. Did not like the 6 speed one bit at all. The 96 I liked. Snappy and good low end throttle response. With the 88b I think you'd be well served to at least do a stage 1 to give it some *****. But that's just me.

Love my 06 but in saying that I likely wouldn't go backwards in years.

I would just add the things to ur 09 that you are liking on the 06 if possible.
No pics so not sure about the fascination for the 06 that ur referring to

Not sure why you would revert to a smaller engine with an inferior transmission on a 3 year older bike...I'm stumped.
