hey guys!
hey people,
me and my dad are looking for a little project to do together, nothing too major. I found this little bike and wanted your opinions on possible work needed and what to look out for? :icon_headbang: " Harley-Davidson 1200 Shovelhead Evo Chopper - 1940's Bobber Style 1973 Harley Davidson Shovelhead built in 1940's Bobber style. 1340 wet sump Evolution engine with 4 speed shovel gearbox and kick start. Heat wrapped piped. Open belt primary. Mikuni carb. Twin front brake discs. Sprung leather saddle and pillion pad. Army tool bag. Side number plate. Comes with V5 and a folder of bills and invoices. Dry stored for 2 years and hence would require light recommissioning. P/X and delivery possible. We are based near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Harley-Dav...item19f9301157 |
we have a quaint term in the colonies for things like that "BASKET CASE"
You are taking on someone elses (failed?) project. Personally there is nothing about that bike that makes it worth half the asking price. Keep looking or make your own. |
PS if the quality of workmanship on the rear fender is indicative of the rest of the bike..RUN
The Front fender is equally as bad.... look at the wiring for the stop/tail light.... ... again RUN |
At that price, by the time you restore it to running and rideable condition, you'll have over 15,000 into it and end up with a bike worth 7,000. It's your money.
