Default Sheepskin on a heated seat

I'm considering a sheepskin for an upcoming 10,000 mile trip. I have a heated hammock and was wondering if anyone out there has experience with a sheepskin on a heated seat. Can you feel any of the heat from your seat since adding the skin or does it eliminate any of the benefit?

Get a Gerbing heated pants liner, all you ever needed. I doubt the heat is gonna transferred through the sheep skin.

The point of a sheepskin is to separate your fanny from unwanted heat during hot days.
No reason to expect it to do anything else on a heated seat.

That was what I thought as well. They are to keep you cool on hot days. You will need to remove it to use the heat.

That's the answer I was expecting Leftcoaster, makes sense. I had read however that the sheepskins are good in cold weather too so I was expecting to leave it on in cold weather. I guess I was hoping someone would reply with a "no, you didn't waste the money on the heated seat" hahaha.

I did get the heated pant liner from warm and safe 128auto so I guess the heated seat isn't needed anyway. I was hoping beyond reason that it would function through the sheepskin somewhat on those days I didn't have the liner on yet. I did spend the money on it, seems a shame now. Wish I'd just gotten the heated gear from the get go.

Thanks for the responses guys.

They are good in cold weather if you don't have heated gear. They help hold your body heat in better than leather or vinyl. But the block heat from the engine.

Can't argue with that.
