Default custom vrod

The other day, I saw an add for a Vrod for sale, with the 1340 Big Bore engine. It has 140hp with the big bore conversion. Nice. Another has a fairing and other add ons. Both are on sale for around $15k. I thought about it but I'm keeping my Night Rod. Its almost stock, just a few mods but it has everything I need. That Big Bore would be nice though. What do you think?

What do you think about the big bore? Would you buy one?

Personally, no. It's not that important to me. A stock Night Rod would be sufficient for me.

Me too. Only thing is the stock exhaust is way to quiet. That's one of few changes I've made.

Used Vrod's go for half of that asking $15,000. "Custom" adds little additional value.
"Big Bore" is synonymous with abused and raced.

Judging by that last comment, and the ninja turtle av, I'm guessing you're what, 12 years old?

13 max.

Vrods are great bikes and the riders are great also. I bought a Vrod after returning from Afghanistan early in the war. I joined vrodforums and "met" fellow owners from all over the world. There was a aftermarket part that cost around $400 at the time and I made a simple comment on how I was saving up money for it because I really wanted it. Several members, who I had never met but knew I was a returning war vet, pitched in and bought the part for me. This is one reason I am immune to anti-vrod BS. You would never see that on this (much larger) forum.

I eventually sold the bike only because it was time for something new. I will tell you though, in 30+ years of licensed riding, it is the only bike I have ever had "seller's remorse" over.

I have seen several pics of 81 and other clubs on Vrods, yet it still isn't cool enough for the "real" bikers.
