The rear wheel diameter will be 16". I'm not sure, but with the '09 swingarm, you may be needing a 150 size rear tires. Not sure the 180 will fit without more modification, but that may not be a issue for you since everything is apart already and mods can be made easily. I'm sure someone with more build knowledge will join in soon and give you all the answers you need. Good luck and don't forget to take pics each step of the way. I for one would love to seem the progression.

My last three bikes were all scratch built an S&S 124" 02 RK, an R&R 155" 06 RK and still rounding up parts an 05 RK.

You really should consider a 2000 or newer frame the newer parts will work better together. I believe there were quite a few changes made between 06 and 09 research will be needed there. Find a good shop to help with fabrication unless you are set up to do your own.

You will have to decide on your fuel delivery and buy the correct wiring harness keeping the bike in certain year ranges makes most everything plug and play.
Have fun and good luck you should meet a lot of good people along the way.

What you need to do is buy a totaled out bagger one with a bent frame,
on the cheap. Then strip the front end, and gas tank off, and cut the neck
off, with a hacksaw. Take the neck to the dealership and have then order
you a brand new frame. Now while you are waiting for the frame, strip the
rest of the bike down to nothing, but two piles of parts, one pile to throw
away, and one pile to keep. The parts you keep clean polish and pretty up.
When the frame comes in, start building the bagger that naughty dreams
are made of. Be sure to buy a wreck that you can still buy parts for. My friend
did this exact same thing with an 06 Super Glide Custom, and it turned out
extremely beautiful, because every piece was put on with love.

You can run up to a 180 rear tire on a 2002+ swingarm, but you'd want to use a two piece rear brake caliper. If you want to run a 200 rear tire, you either need to widen the swingarm, or use the 09 swingarm. Widening the swingarm isn't a huge fabrication chore, there are a couple of threads on hdf detailing how it's done.

The 02 swingarm had some significant upgrades: bearings instead of cleve blocks, bigger pivot bolt and axle, and the swingarm itself was reinforced, which makes it more rigid.
